Glendale Arapahoe

Glendale is a home rule municipality in Arapahoe County, Colorado, United States. As the most densely populated municipality in Colorado, Glendale is part of the City and County of Denver. As well as being part of the Front Range Urban Corridor, Aurora is also part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Statistical Area. 365 acres (1.478 km2) of the city’s total area were water, and 1.5 acres (0.006 km2) were land. The city’s limited space is mostly devoted to commercial development, including both residential and office high rises.

Glendale is located at the fork of S Colorado Boulevard and Leetsdale Drive. S Colorado Boulevard runs north and south and forms a natural border to the west. Cherry Creek flows through the city. Glendale was formerly home to Celebrity Sports Center, a local landmark and family activity center established by Walt Disney and other celebrity investors.

Glendale is home to Infinity Park. Glendale’s Infinity Park is an event sports and entertainment complex adjacent to the city’s municipal buildings and courthouse. Infinity Park occupies nearly 16 acres between Cherry St and Birch St (east/west) and E Kentucky Ave and E Mississippi Ave (north/south). It features an Event Center, Stadium, Park, Sports Center, and High Altitude Training Center. Other parks and green areas in the city include Mir Park, Creekside Park, Playa del Carmen Park and Cherry Creek Trail.

Four Mile Historic Park lies on the edge of Glendale. The Four Mile House is located on this 12-acre (49,000 m2) rural site, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Denver’s oldest house. The Four Mile House, built in 1859 along Cherry Creek, served as a stage stop, inn, and tavern for travelers on their way to Denver City via the Cherokee Trail. Four Mile Historic Park now houses a museum, summer camp, and events center. In Denver’s Washington Virginia Vale neighborhood, just outside Glendale’s city limits, you will find the park.

Glendale has several shopping areas including Walgreens, Bed Bath & Beyond, The Home Depot, World Market, Target, King Soopers, Skyline Center, Whole Foods Market, and Barnes & Noble. Restaurants in Glendale include Crumbl Cookies – Cherry Creek, Chick-fil-A, Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh, Bull & Bush Brewery, Native Foods, Modern Market Eatery, and PokeCity Glendale.
