The Town of Firestone is a Statutory Town in southwestern Weld County, Colorado, United States. Firestone is a part of the Greeley, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Front Range Urban Corridor. The town had a total area of 9,106 acres (36.849 km2) including 422 acres (1.708 km2) of water.

 

Firestone is located about 30 miles north of Denver. The immediate adjacent communities to Firestone are Frederick and Dacono to the south. Other close communities are Mead to the north, Longmont to the west, and Platteville to the northeast. Within the incorporated area of the Town of Firestone is an unincorporated section called ‘Del Camino’.

 

The main roads throughout Firestone are Firestone Boulevard, Sable Avenue, Pine Cone Avenue, and Colorado Boulevard. Interstate 25 partially passes through the western border of the town while Colorado Boulevard runs north and south straight through linking Mead to the north and Frederick to the south. Firestone Boulevard emerges east from the interchange of I-25 with US 119.

 

Firestone has more than thirty-five parks and twelve miles of scenic trail. The Firestone/Legacy Trail runs for more than twelve miles, much of that distance along a railroad right-of-way that once serviced the coal industry. It is home to Saddleback Golf Course. The town has a sports complex called Firestone Regional Sports Complex. Prairie Ridge Elementary School, Firestone Charter Academy, Coal Ridge Middle School, Centennial Elementary School and High Plains Library District – Carbon Valley Regional Library are the several places of education within the community. Several shopping areas within Firestone include American Furniture Warehouse, The Home Depot, Kroger and Dollar General.
