Northgate is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is a part of the Colorado Springs, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. Interstate-25 forms a natural border to the west and Colorado State Highway 83 to the east respectively. It borders Gleneagle to the north, Black Forest to the east, Briargate to the south, and Air Force Academy to the west.
Northgate can be accessed via CanAm Highway from the west or via the Interstate-25 interchange through North Gate Boulevard. North Gate Boulevard and Interquest Parkway serve as the main thoroughfare east-west and Voyager Parkway north-south.
Northgate, which is upscale and expanding, is close to the US Air Force Academy, which has military exhibits, hiking trails, and Cadet Chapel with its spiked roof. Frog’s Leap Park is peaceful and has sports fields, while Mary Kyer Park has sports fields. During the warmer months, the museum hosts a twice-weekly farmers’ market and recounts gold rush history. A variety of breweries and international restaurants are also found in the area.
Northgate is home to the Western Museum of Mining & Industry a 27-acre history museum located west of North Gate Boulevard occupying the corner of the northwest border of the area. Adjacent to it is the Go-kart track called Overdrive Raceway on Spectrum Loop. Most places of entertainment are located to the south including Great Wolf Lodge Water Park, The Summit Interquest and Regal Interquest & RPX off Interquest Parkway, MagiQuest off Federal Drive, and Icon Cinema off Spring Water Point. Pubs and restaurants are mostly found on Interquest Parkway such as Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Anthony’s Pizza & Pasta and Dutch Bros Coffee.
Schools serving Northgate include Pikes Peak Community College, The Classical Academy – North Campus, The Classical Academy – East Campus, and The Da Vinci Academy. Green spaces such as Mary Kyer Park, Lizard Leap Park, Angel Mist Park At Flying Horse, and Frog’s Leap Park.
The only place of worship in Northgate is New Life Church on Voyager Parkway.
